Questions for people who had bought the "Premodified PS2 ChipMod Pro 2.0" from modchip.ca OR from anyone who knows if the modchip(asnwer question 1)can play all games this is a copy sended to modchip.ca with some changes, they havent replied back though...any help appreciated!
Before I spend over $300 for the 'Premodified PS2 ChipMod Pro 2.0', I wanted to know some stuff that it didn?t clarify in the product description.
NOTE about myself and bear with me; some questions might be dumb, sorry, but this is quite expensive for a moded ps2($120 off amazon, and modchips are around $50-100)
1) Can it play all games? A) Literally all PS & PS2 (original and backup games)
*Original (I had a console with a modchip that couldn?t play some original games, God of war is an example of ones I read about)
*Backup (I read online that some modchip cant play all backups)
* PAL (it wasn?t described on the description of the product)
2) Warranty questions:
A) "The chip inside comes with a lifetime warranty." so does it mean if the chip is defective or corrupts my ps2, u guys replace it? chip only or ps2 as well?
B) "GS2/DVD9 Ready Brand New PS2 modified console with WARRANTY. " What is this? if the ps2 with modchip is illegal, why would I want a warrant from the company that developed the ps2? or is it a warrant from you guys?
3) This is my first time buying stuff online, greatly appreciate any tips. need to know that the product will ship without getting damages in any minimal way, I don?t care about delay!
what is the best way for this? ;= perfect product condition regardless of product arrival time! Is there a save way for this?
Although they claim that the $30+ for shipping is fast, is it the safest way?
when I put the product on the cart, it automatically sets my shipping fee to $39.00 yet on the "shipping" section on the "HELP" category of the website, it lists options, how can I change it and is it better to change it? will be helpful to list or rate each shipping option according to rate of product condition and likely to arrive, I don?t want to spend over $30 on shipping cost, which most people doesn?t seem to be doing. and its not even refundable.
(If all answers from 1-3 are true/works or helpful, you guys don?t have to bother with the questions below)
4) why is it so expensive! $300 when a ps2 cost $120 and modchip $50-$100? is it expensive because, based on your product description:
a)))is the last ps2 model; 79001 version. don?t they cost the same as old slim on the market? wont it cost cheaper if I ordered both ps2 model and modchip and send it to a guy to do it?
b)))"Gamers can now view discs with recorded or edited content on the DVD format; meaning they can playback recordable DVD media (DVD-R/RW)." -product description
doesn?t it do that already without the changes?
c))) "It does not get better then this! Equipped NEWEST Chipmod PRO modchip the only chip that?s 100% safe for the slim ps'2s no worry about laser falure like other modchips!" -product description
what is laser failure?
sorry about all the inconvenience, but I don?t have much cash in me and Im unemployed, so Im desperate to find out.
The ChipMod Pro+ 2.0 is actually modchip.ca's own customized version of the Matrix Infinity running firmware v1.93 which is actually the most stable modchip currently available (especially for the newest ps2's like you have). It can't be considered a clone because it has actually slightly improved upon the original Infinity 1.93, which is probably why they call it 2.0 :) The only other chip that parallels (and in some ways rivals) the Matrix Infinity in terms of stability and features is the DMS4 Pro S.E. which will work on everything up to v15. There are only three different types of modchips that will currently work on the latest v16-v18 (SCPH-7900x - SCPH-9000x) consoles:
Modbo chips are clones of the Matrix Infinity and the 745 is known to be a very good chip, but being clones none of the Modbo chips would be considered 'fully featured'. None of the chips mentioned thus far in this thread would be considered unstable. With all of that being said if you want the most reliable, stable and feature rich modchip for a v16-v18 ps2 then definitely go with a v1.93 chip (especially ChipMod because of modchip.ca outstanding customer service).
Also, I have done business many times with modchip.ca and they have without a doubt the BEST customer service out of all the reputable modchip stores today. Some other stores I have bought from are mod-chip.com, modsupplier.com, eurasia.nu, and consolesource.com. Modchip.ca's prices might be a little higher than average but they make up for it in OUTSTANDING customer service.
