i have a dvd but it is zone 1 we are zone 4 can i rip this or copy to get it to run

Check to see if zone 4 is PAL video standard. If it is, making the dvd region free still won't help because region 1 is NTSC video standard.You can still copy it but you will have playback problems. I'm not sure what video standard is in region 4.
