D2E vs D2E with metal clip?

I just opened up a new Wii yesterday to check the drive version. I didn't check for the metal clip on the drive-DOH! I don't feel like opening it again just to check for the clip. I've got a 33% chance of having the clip on there. The drive is GC2-D2E, no cut pins. I doubt it but just so I'm sure, does anyone know if the clip matters if I plan I getting a D2Pro9 V3? Thanks. ---Chikn

As far as I know the metal clip has no effect for D2E drives/Modchips. It was to help distinguish D2C from D2C2. So D2Pro ver3 should work for any D2E at this time.
