Pandora battery need charged before use?

Is this pandora battery i have bought need to be charged or not before using it? When i put after made mms on my psp nothing happen no menu.. no screen... i am using win xp.. my psp is slim.
and when i tried to charge the battery (if it was the problem) after 10 minutes psp going to complete shutdown. and when i put only the original battery only i could make it ON.. I have made the mms successfully..

pls advise me what to do...

with no battery installed turn the PSP on by connecting it to the power adapter

once its on and you get to the XMB put the pandora battery into the PSP and it should charge fine. it should reach 100% charge before you attempt CFW install

Dear Donaldo,
But when i put this for charging as u said (after connecting power and when coming the XMB) it showing charging but after 5-6 minutes the psp going to complete shutdown.. seeing no indicator.. as like we complete switch off.. what to do now.. and when i checking the battery information in system information, charging percentage shown as "-" .. pls help

well it shuts down after 5 minutes cause it goes to sleep to save power ... so that part is normal.

but it sounds like something is wrong with your pandora battery ... where did you buy it from??

but if it go sleep i think still the red light will be on..
but i cant see any indicator.. also i checked by de-activating power save option.. but when it go off line with a small "tik" sound also... is there any problem for my battery?
