Mozilla has announced that they will be bringing Firefox Mobile to handsets worldwide by 2010 but the alpha testing may come as soon as the end of this year. Not in my mind. I currently run Opera Mini on my mobile (Samsung U600) but if Mozilla released it in Java then I would certainly use it.

Did you guys read the article? It says they want to have a very formidable product on the market by 2010, and that alpha testing is coming soon and it will progress just like any other project.

You're still missing the point - the article doesn't say it will be a year for alpha testing! There is no set release date, it has just been announced that it will most certainly be finished in 2010, and that alpha testing starts soon.
