Error 14, want to hotswap, no ide in computer

I softmodded my xbox, it worked fine. I tried to change some things around, and formatted my xbox with the aid disk (stupid..) Now I am getting error 13 and 14.

I realize the only way to fix this, is to hotswap. Upon inspection of my computer, I realize I only have Sata ports, no IDE. No IDE for cd-roms, either. No ribbon whatsoever in my computer.

Soo.. aside from borrowing another computer with 2 IDE ports, what can I do?

I realize I need a new MS dashboard. Is it possible that I could buy a large sata harddrive online, install necessary files, and buy a IDE to Sata converter and install it in the xbox that way? Would that work?

Or, would it be possible to buy an IDE to Sata converter, install that in my computer, and then perform the hotswap?

Help is appreciated.

Don't think that will work somehow.

Have a dumpster diving session, or a look at your local freecycle ..or chat up the bloke at the dump.. that always works for me.. but then again I can use the "short skirt and low cut top" approach. Might not be that sensible if you are male.. or then again, you could be just what he has been looking for.. ask Corn ;)
