Hi
I basically I want to capture video from my VCR to my PC but don't want it to be deinterlaced. So far every software i've tryed deinterlaces the video automatically, i've checked the setting but there is no way to disable the deinterlacing so i just wanted to no which software I could use (if there is any), that can capture video without deinterlacing it. The software i've tryed is WinDVR, WinDVD, Ulead DVD MovieFactory and some other freeware ones which were just crap.
Any help appreciated.

Thank You

people pointed me to mainconcept, they said it's the bollox. ;)

as it's windows software I never even tried it, but give it a go from the "usual sources".. heheheheheh

failing that nero wassit things have been seen to import HD camcorder stuff where nothing else would play. +1 for nero there

I tried nero but for some reason if I capture with sound, the video lags every 2 seconds so I end up with a jumpy video, but if I capture without sound I get a nice smooth playing video which looks like what I need but its useless without sound :S

Also where do I get this mainconcept software? I checked the website but they are all just codecs? How can I use them to capture?

Thank you

Wouldn't know about sources.. not a windows owner or user.. usual sources ;) do some beachcombing in the bay..torrent client and lack of scruples required hehehe

now as to a guide.. http://www.spaceplant.com/stuff/capture-...dvd-cinergy.php looks good.

without breaking some rules (freedom of speech my arse) that's about the best I can give you.. mainconcept imported NTSC4.43 video beautifully in Europe... which as far as I'm concerned makes all the difference.

Try googling your original question and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. There will be a solution somewhere amongst the multitude of links ;)

Try virtual vcr
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VirtualVCR

Presumably, as long as it can capture to mpeg 2,
both fields should be present.

I see virtual vcr recommends HuffyUV for capturing.
http://virtualvcr.sourceforge.net/html/virtualvcr/index.php

Huffyuv is supposed to be able to capture both fields.
Can't you use that?

Thanks alot guys, I was messing about with the setting in virtual vcr and finally got it to work, it seem that some capture resolutions are not supported by it and therefore it crashes if they are used. But anyway I successfully captured interlaced video.
I was hoping to find something that capture interlaced MPEG files but this will have to do.

Thanks Again! xD
