Alright where do i start, i burn games all the time, and i mean all the time. I have never had problems or even bought my own dvd+r's for that matter. they were usually given to me and so on. I have always used DVD+r's for ps2 games and never had a problem.(I use Swap magic as my mod chip) Ive used ESA,TDK,MAXELL,MEMOREX,VERBATIM,and a few others, BUT i recently bought HP's because I found them really cheap on a website and thought that it was a GREAT deal. ANYWAYS come to it i had about 12 games on my PC waiting to be burnt and then i burned through almost 50 of my 100pk jsut trying to get 1 game to work. after this i did my reasearch and I realized that there were different types of ring codes, and materials that dvd/cd's were made out of and all that stuff which I had never known was a big deal before because i never needed to do my reasearch to figure that out because what ever i had even crappy dvds worked perfectly. so next thing was that I read all about Taiyo Yudens and all that junk and went to supermediastore.com to purchase a 100 pack. I got them yesterday all siced up to burn like 25 games that I had. which i did and NOT A SINGLE ONE WORKED. even the crappy HP's would AT LEAST try to boot up on my ps2 but would get stuck at loading screens and a lot of them at the begning of just the COMPANY NAME. the Taiyo Yudens straight up would cut to my red screen (please enter a ps2 disc or ps2 compatible disc) it didnt even accept a single one of them. the ring code on the dvd+R's is TH000045 and when i put it in my pc it reads as
Memorex DVD+/-DLRWN16 D2 2.AD (USB)

oh ya and ive used SO MANY dam burners (imgburn, magiciso, dvddecryptor, nero) and still not a single dvd has worked. im so dam blown. i have a MEMOREX DOUBLE LAYER 16X burner. NOTHING IS WORKING and IM REALLY stressed out, can anyone please help me? or tell my what my problem is? Ive been reading a lot of forums about this but nothing is seeming to help me??

Does your Memorex burner allow you to change the BOOKTYPE for your DVD+R to DVD-ROM
Use imgburn, and then change the BOOKTYPE if it will let you.
Then burn at 4-6x speed and see if that helps, unless you have already done that.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it and still didn't work.
I'm using a Memorex(32023288)DVD±RW Dual Layer Burner
but from the research I've done its really a nec3500a on the inside or something
i don't know if it lets me edit my book type i barely know what that is but any who i looked in image burn and right next to the number of
copies tab there's a book type option i open it up
there are multiple tabs welcome benq etc.. i think u know
but any who i picked nec "since my DVD drive supposedly has that in it"
and then under change for: i opened the tab and picked "drive(for DVD+r media)"
then new setting: to DVD-ROM then clicked change, then it said successful
then it said in current setting:
DVD-ROM (changes available 499) this setting is active
it originally said 500
so i assume i did this correctly ? still unsure but i burned the game
at 6x and it didn't work i hope i did it correctly ?
thanks for replying and the help if you have any more suggestions Ied really appriciate it!

Yes you made the BOOKTYPE Settings correctly.
Using DVD+R on a PS2 requires you to do this so the PS2 can recognize the disc.
Try burning at 4x speed, but no lower.
What version PS2 do you have?

by the way all the dvdrs i use always bin +rs they worked up till recently
just a note but what i find intersting is that the taiyo yudens dont work
the hp dvds boot but dont work my,yuden fujis dont work at all
my ritex fujis do the same as hps
but the odd part is the esa's i used to begin with work
the esa ring code is Disc ID: CMC MAG-E01-00
the hp ring code is Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00
the fuji film Disc ID: RITEK-F16-01
all so have another set with the yuden id
and the taiyo yudens are YUDEN000-T03-00
all +r 16x
the only ones that seem to like me are the esa's im so lost
i though esa's where crap
and i cant buy those agen cus theres no way i can tell if i can the same ones with that ring code, yudens the only real deal so it seems and they dont work, any other sigestions are needed thanks for all your help

It is strange since you say you have played +R's in the past with no problem.
It has been noted though some V9 PS2 do not like +R DVD, even when BOOKTYPED, which all +R should be Booktyped to work properly.
Are you haing any problems with Original DVD or CD in the PS2, as V9/V10 is noted for the laser issue.
http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm
HP really in my opinion is not intended for PS2 backups.
Memorex is crap, just read the faqs in the stickys.
Taiyo Yuden should have been good, Verbatim or Sony are great.
You may want to pick up some Sony DVD-R and give that a go.
Other than that, I don't know what else to tell you.

Yeah you sure are working hard on the DVD's lol
The Taiyo Yuden disks are fine.
It may be your burner.
Here is a review on it.
http://www.cdfreaks.com/reviews/Memorex-...-Burner-Review/
Read the conclusion:
Shows good 8x DVD+/-R write quality, so maybe you need to buy 8x discs and see if you have same problem.
I am just guessing so who knows for sure if thats the problem or not.
