Having trouble ripping this dvd to hard drive for making a back up copy.I'm using Anydvd ver.6469. It starts out fine but stops at 35% each time. Go to same 35% with dvdshrink, nero recode, and dvdfab. Any suggestions? I will try clonedvd mobile to see if I could convert to .mp4 . Thanks

Update to the newest version of Anydvd and give it another go. And make sure the disc is clean.
Some assembly required.

Ok I downloaded the new version 6.9.7.0 and it stops at 35% and an alarm comes on with "File 3 VTS_03_1.VOB660561920 256000". I guess it can't read past this file. Then it tells me that the files I created would be deleted. I uasually have no problem ripping to hard drive with ANYDVD alone.

I was able to rip disc 1 with plain old dvdshrink. But the problem is I can't rip disc 2.
I notice when I watch both Grey's Anatomy season 4 and 'Samantha Who' with Nero Showtime, there is a brief lag/stutter at the beginning of every episode. After the lag, the rest of the episode plays perfectly. I'm guessing that this is some new copy protection scheme that is on every DVD set from ABC Studios.

Could be a layer transittion between the menu on layer 0 and the episode elsewhere as in layer 1)

UPDATE: I just ripped Disc 2 using just dvdshrink. Initially, I tried ripping disc 2 with anyDVD but got a read error. I then tried dvdshrink and it also reported disc read error. The exact same thing happened what I tried to rip Grey's disc 1.
I came back a little later and was able to rip Samantha Who disc 2 just using dvdshrink. It's strange that I was successful this time because I didn't try to rip the disc first with anyDVD.

I know there have been more cases of a bad press with series dvd's than with movie dvd's. I guess in their rush to push the dvd's out, their quality control is not as good with tv series since each package has between 3-6 disks or more.
