Ha ha very funny.

I did this last time and screwed my battery up I am asking which is the best method of charging.

Do I plug the battery in and use it until the battery icon comes up and goes off and then charge it?

lol what i ment was put it in your psp and plug the psp into the jack using the charger. i usually just let it charge for an hour or two befor playing (depending on the battery life i have left)...i dont like to play while charging for the charger/battery works harder...

I know how to charge a battery what I am trying to figure out is do I charge it straight away or do I use it till it dies then charge it?

I have been told charging the battery straight from the box screws up the battery and that I should of let it die then charge it.

I dont want to end up with another screwed up battery as they are not cheap.

New batteries have a 50 percent charge. To properly calibrate the battery don't use it, charge it while the PSP is off. Don't sleep the PSP but turn it off completely. Plug it in and wait until the orange lamp turns off. After it has been completely charged, drain the battery. Right after the PSP sleeps connect the adapter and turn it off completely. Now let it charge until the orange lamp turns off. Repeat this process twice, this will allow the lithium ion cells distribute themselves evenly throughout the battery internal cell conductors.

Many may say its just a bunch of talk, if you don't do it this way; we'll just see who ends up with an inaccurate charge gauge. Sony doesn't include this information in the manual. Wonder why? They want you to keep purchasing batteries.
