Orange Charge light constantly on when unit is off

I am experiencing a problem with my psp fat. Even though the unit is off and the wall charger is not plugged into the unit, the orange charging inidicator is on. I know that this is a normal thing when a Pandora battery is inserted but that is not the case here. I put the battery into my slim and did not have that issue. Only when it is in the fat will the light stay orange. When i turn the unit on, it boots fine, yet the light stays orange even though it is not plugged into the charger. I have noticed that the unit will have the orange light on when the charger is plugged into the unit with no battery in the unit. Am i going to have a dead unit soon? I hope that this is in the right forum. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

The light being on with out a battery is not possible from what i know. What i would do is drain the battery by leaving you PSP on and turning off all the power saving features until its fully used. After that try to recharge it.

i have tried that and the light still stays orange. I have no problems running the system at all. I will see if i can get a you tube video going to show the problem that i am having and meybe that can shed some "light" on how to cope with the problem.
