I was wondering if anyone has had problems with them or if Pine is known as cheap media.

never heard of pine. i have bought like 4 spindles of both 25pk and 50pks of memorex +r blank media, its a very, very good media.. but there are some people that has problem with it, i havent, thats why i keep using it. philips is good, tdk, imation, and tdk have all worked flawless with my tdk 420n burner

The first batch of Memorex DVD-R I bought were perfect, so I ordered 50 more. Unfortunately not one of the second batch could be recognised. I never figured this out. Even DVDIdentifier said they were exactly the same. Sent them back for refund. The originals continued to burn well. Burner is an NEC-ND1300A at 1.07.

who manufactured the bad batch? cmc mag. or ricoh jpn? ive had memorex under both manufactures and have worked well in over 10 different dvd players

Pretty sure it was cmc mag. I've got the headers stored somewhere. The only difference was that the first batch came in cellophane-sealed cake boxes. The second were in cake boxes (no cellophane), one box had no Memorex circular card insert and there were 4 physically scuffed or scratched disks. But, as I said, they appeared to be identical. It makes no sense.
