Good day. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this. I would like to download my photos to DVD and be able to watch them on my TV. Does someone have a program for that application and if so, where can I get it. Your comments about the program good or bad would be appreciated and a free program always works best for me.
Thanks,
Dan

you could do that i would check into some pay for software though.

A good one that allows you to create photo slideshows with music is still nero burning rom they do photocd's that play in any dvd player the software is only 99.99 and you then have a usefull tool when burning dvd's as well.

I've tried them all including Ulead, Roxio, Nero, and one called Memories On TV. None of them are cheap and none of them work as well as PhotoStory 3 from Microsoft. Yes, I said Microsoft.

Full featured: minor photo editing, add music and/or your own voice narration, and that great "Ken Burns" zoom and pan effect. It's very intuitive on it's own with some great help sites. It's also free. Try it out and view the results on your PC. I must warn you that although the playback on your PC might appear "jerky" due to the video accelertion settings on some PC's, the playback from your DVD player on your TV will be smooth. At least it is on mine and the several friends and relatives that I've given copies to. If you like it you will then have to purchase the Sonic plug-in for PhotoStory 3 in order to burn to a DVD that will play in a standalone DVD player. It costs $20.00, cheap compared to the rest.

I've used it dozens of times without fail.
You can then make as many copies as you want using free copying software available on Afterdawn. It is faster to copy using other programs, however. I'm no Microsoft fanboy by any means, but this thing works great.

Hey,
Thanks for all the info. I will check them all out to see which one I like the best.
On the Microsoft Photo Story 3, I can set up the photos and music but then have to buy the Sonic plug in in order to burn the results to DVD?
Thanks,
Dan

Yes you need the Sonic plugin to burn a Photostory 3 file to DVD. I've searched for other methods but couldn't find one that works. Also, here's a heads up. When burning to DVD with the Sonic plugin the "progress bar" goes really slow, even appearing to stop for a long time. But don't give up. It's still working. On my PC with 60 or so pictures and added .mp3's it takes about 45 minutes.
