so i've been using DVD shrink for nearly 4 years and never had a problem until i decided to backup my copy of Supernatural Season 3 DVD.
well was i in for a shock, as i put the backup copy in my dvd player (sony 1080p upconverter) the playback was all messed up.
it kept jumping chapters, all out of synce, there were no dvd menu`s or options. i assumed this was an error on my part, until after two minutes of watching random scenes, an oldschool clip from a 60`s movie pops up, with a sarcastic message about how piracy sucks!

i was at first confused, then partly amused, and then pissed.
can somebody verify if they`ve had this happen to them and if there`s any program to backup my dvd`s

1) decrypt to HDD with dvdfab HD (free version)

3) shrink files with dvd shrink, output as iso/image to HDD
4) burn iso/image file with IMgburn

thanks for the help

i was wondering if this clip that intentionally mentions piracy, which has a copyrighted by Warner Bros logo 2007, a new method of curbing piracy or has it been the norm with Warner Bros encryption methods

Dvd shrink has not been updated in 4 years, nor will it be updated. Dvd shrink may no longer be updated, but it still is a very useful program.

The parody you talked about is one of the new ones they have started doing to 'curb piracy'. There have been a few others done, including a clip from the classic movie 'The Maltese Falcon'.

Dvdfab is free, which makes it the easiest program to use. Mr. Bones has given you some very good and sound advice.

DvdFab Hd Decrypter is free, Mr. RTM. :) Sadly Gold/Platinum do have a purchase price, that it well worth it IMHO. HD Decrypter is still free and it seems like Fengtao/Ting have no thoughts about changing that. It is indeed a good way to go. I used it for a long time before purchasing Platinum.

Some assembly required.

I used dvdfab HD (the free version) prior to purchasing dvdfab plat last year. No regrets.

BTW, rtm, my friend and mentor, a hearty thank you !

@sKrEwZ

Yeah, I meant to put the HD Decrypter after I put dvdfab. Guess I was more tired than I thought I was at work. Thanks for the backup.

@ bones

You're welcome bro. We do our best to backup one another here and help out.
