Hi
I am new to this sort of thing,so i will put this question the best i know how.I have a psp which i want to get on line with,my router is a Netgear(i dont know if you need the model number). But here goes,i try to connect to the Internet but it comes up with the following:When i scan it comes up with ssid+Netgear,Security=none,Conection 100%.
So i put wlan settings on next screen as none. Here is what it exactly says on the next screen.
A Connection error has occurred
A connection to the access point could not be established
Check the security setting for the network and try again
Connection Name : NETGEAR
SSID : NETGEAR
Any help would be grateful
PS The psp is homebrew would this make a difference?
Hi again some more details on my router and firmware if this helps.
My router is a netgear wgt624v3,and my firmware is 4.01.
Hope this will help someone to help me
Thanks in advance

Hi
Thanks for the reply Driver.I managed to get my psp online, but at the expense of my daughters wi connection which i lost for some reason, she was using a laptop which she lost connection with,so i had to reset the router so she could get online,is there a way to get both psp and the laptop online with them having different settings?.Because now i am totally lost.
below is an answer to another question but I think that you both (laptop and psp) should be using the same tkip passphrase because wep is too confusing.
[Yeah, you should see your connection when you scan for access points with your psp (try it without a password on your router/wifi first). I had mine working for awhile then one day it stopped. I considered reformating my hard drive and starting all over, but all I had to do was remove the router/wifi and erase all my netgear folders; do a crapclean to erase the registery entries then just reinstall from my netgear disk. P.S. WEP is confusing try tkip. Oh yeah, this is psp 1000 stuff, I'm not familar with newer models.]
