Basically I bought a Codebreaker and want to use it with my backups. My process so far:
Load Codebreaker
Select cheats
Hit X; when it asks to insert the game I insert Swap Magic Swap for backup
Play the backup
But like the title says, the cheats don't work. I've tried this for several games and get the same results every time. I have yet to try the Codebreaker with one of my originals (they're safe back home), but I doubt it's defective. If any of you have had this problem and managed to fix it I'd appreciate it if you could help me out.
After borrowing a friend's original I have confirmed that the Codebreaker works. It looks like loading Swap Magic is what's causing the problem. I'll continue to work on it, but I doubt I'll have any luck.

Edit: Also tried throwing DVDLoader into the mix as per other threads on this forum. Once again, the game booted without a hitch but sans the codes.
After trying every trick and exploit I could get my hands on, whether they be memory card, usb, or .elfs, I have concluded that it is impossible to do with my current setup. It seems that loading up Swap Magic again is somehow overriding or wiping out the codes. From my research it sounded like it was an issue with the slim PS2's, as many reported successes on older versions. This left me with one option: abandon Codebreaker. I managed to get cheats to work on backups using this method:
Swap Magic DVD Ar Max Evo*
Select Cheats
Insert Swap Magic DVD
Swap for backup
*I had to use a cracked version that was specifically for Swap Magic. Take note that you cannot switch media with this, so burn the Ar onto a DVD despite its small size. I imagine that if you were to play a CDPS2 game then you would need another copy of AR on a CD.
I hope this helps somebody out there. And if anybody does find a method that works with Codebreaker and the slims do me a favor and post it. I'm sure that others beside myself would like to know too.
