Weird Samsung MS28 problem...

Before I flash my Samsung MS28 everything works perfectly fine with the default firmware. When I flash the drive with the hacked Iextreme 1.4 firmware originals and backups won't load or anything. Does anyone have any ideas as to why?

Did you get the "success" at the end of the dump and flash? Have you tried reflashing it?

Yeah, I've did it several time with *Success* all times... I do it word for word and works perfect... Just when I toss the hacked firmware on it the drive doesn't reconize any discs and sounds like it reads them harder.

No clue.. I'm doing it right though for sure..

Wow that is strange...if it's not reading any disks. Can't say I've heard of that one before. Almost sounds like a bad key or something. But I can't say for sure. Maybe somebody else will chime in here with more advice for you. Sorry I don't have more to help you with. Good luck.

first thing to do is get another copy of the firmware but from xbins

then check your key on you original firmware with frimware toolbox

now use the programs that makes the hacked firmware and check the key with firmware toolbox and make sure the keys are the same
now just reflash and see if this helps

hey what version of Iprep are you using I would use 6.2 the new 7.3 sucks , I couldent flash my drive with 7.3 but 6.2 workd great man I would try that

What speed firmware did you use?
Also with iprep I know it says you can reboot your pc now but then I have to wait a little longer until I get a final message telling me that it's completely finished.

I'm using the latest Iprep which is v0006.2.

I have tried 8x and 12x speeds and none of them work....

I thought after you flash it and once it says you can reboot your PC and goes right to the DOS prompt it is finished? Is there something else to wait for?

I know when I do it is says "reboot your pc" in gray letters but I have to wait a little longer until it says something like complete or safe to shut down pc. Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since I did a samsung. I think that text might even be in red or green but I'm not 100% sure.

Hmm... I'm not sure what is wrong... The drive keys are correct in both ORIG and CFW.

I also did a BenQ last night... Flashed fine but won't read backups but reads originals fine... Not sure what is wrong there either :(

hmmm try to use xtreme boot maker 0.3.6

use custom mtkflash option
and ms28 bad flash and bokes patch

and then write with
mtkflash w hacked.bin

when it list the drive shutdown your xbox and start counting to ten but
before you get to ten selet the drive and press enter and when you get to ten turn on your xbox and the power light shoud start start writng


and for the benq use dosflash

Yeah, I have no problems getting it to flash the drive... I'm just consfused as to why the Samsung drive stops reading originals after I flash it with the ixtreme......

I just got the BenQ drive working... Turns out it was the media I was using for that drive... Working fine now...

I may just leave the samsung alone now.
