swap magic 3.6 dvd doesnt load

Sorry if asked before. I really have been looking and looking all over. But when I put the swapmagic 3.6 dvd in it just spins and doesnt come up with a load screen just remains black. I have read that to put the cd cd in and boot up and put a high TOC game in and when it comes back to the load screen then put the dvd game in. I have tried after booting with the cd putting an actual game in and it tells me its not a ps2 disk. I have burned the backup cds/dvd's at 4x and 8x with DVD Decryptor. The disks are Maxell dvd-r but I am going to get Verbatim or similar but I am concerned without being able to boot with the Swap Magic Disk.

I would appreciate any help thanks in advance.

Sorry I should mention that when I do boot with the cd when I put the game cd in it will spin slowly and fail -- Ive tried booting with the Swap Magic cd then dvd and the laser eye is at or near the end of the cd/dvd and spins slowly when a cd/dvd is in

I cleaned the laser and my PS2 slim is reading the disk -- going to get better DVD's to burn to and go from there -- Thanks

I searched around here and used some suggestions and tried different things -- lots of info here
