cannot play pc games online (multiplayer server)

I cannot play PC games online in multiplayer such as unreal tournament 3, db source, GE source, GRID etc. though i can create a server just not join them or sometimes see them depending on the game. I am running vista ultimate 64 bit, all my games are using no-CD/DVD cracks BTW i do have a steam account and source sdk base help plz

forget this i run windows 7 x64 now and all is fine
