Recorded from camcorder onto tape. Converted to cd-r Can play movie. Can play in Nero but want to send as windows media if possible so he can open. The movie has 18 sections which shows in menu when open in windows media. I need to extract one section. I have nero, dvd encr, dvd shrink etc. Want to extract one section so can e mail to friend.
Tried to research here, scuba pete, etc. Honestly tried.
Reason not relevant but want someone to know who may be able to help. A German friend was here. A person took movies of a lot of events. He was only in one section. Not very computer literate so can not send him the cd. Want to email him just the section he was on. Do not have the original tape. He will not be with us long and in Germany they are having a celebration of his life and want this. Sorry is to basic but just cannot figure out how to do this.

Can you open these files with DVD Shrink?

Click on the re-author tab and drag your selection to the window on your left. Right click on that title and select start/end frames. You can then make adjustments to backup the portion of the video that you want. Click on ok and then backup to a new folder. If you then want to convert it to WMV, you can try the 30 day trial version of DVDFab Platinum.

If you cant to convert it to AVI, you can try AutoGK (freeware).

Tried. Every time I click on re-author tab, it says error must close down. I have version 3.2. I deleted and re loaded but this did not help. I must be a real dummy. Sorry.

Try doing the same procedure with a regular DVD movie.
You wouldn't by any chance be using Internet Explorer 8 would you?

You can also cut with VobBlanker.
