Audio Skipping on LG DV388 DVD Player

I bought a LG Dvd player with USB and HDMI support, LG DV388 . No complaints when it comes to playing audio cds or dvds. However initially I noticed that sometimes the audio skips from playing a divx file from the USB. The problem would go away after I just unplugged the USB and blew the dust away.

However yesterday I played a VCD and the audio would keep skipping. It was a rental VCD so I took out 3 VCDs from my collection (I have only abt 3!) and the same problem. Now I admit the vcds were not in a pristine condition and had scratches but other players and my laptop plays them fine. Its only this one which has a problem. The USB also skips but very rarely which I figured was normal since its reading from a thumbdrive and it goes away if I blow on it and re insert it.

So what do I do? Shall I take it to LG and show them as its only having difficulty playing scratches vcds.
The player is around 40 days old!
