ok so heres the deal, i have an xbox with the original drive and all well i wanted to upgrade the hdd which i done with no problems on my other box, unusually when i softmodded it i backed up and backed the eeprom, well after getting it installed and trying to find my eeprom.bin it wasnt there so i used config magic and made a back up of it and installed everything via xboxhdm and locked it up trying this process several times but i keep coming up with error code 6 and cant upgrade the drive. any immediate responses would be appreciated because it really has me frustrated, the first one i ever did went so smooth i wasnt expectine any problems but i stumbled into this.

Have you tried searching the forums for this (common, thus previously posted by lots of different people) problem ? while awaiting an answer ?.
If you'd have searched you'd have found this one at the very least - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210562

It's always wise to help yourself if an answer isn't forthcoming.. but leaving comments such as 'thanks a lot buttheads' won't do you any favours around here...

well the box was all original when i got it and the dvd doesnt work in it so i swapped my rom out and modded the box then put it back together as normal...i found a spare 80 gig and tried to upgrade the drive and i keep getting error 6 even after burning 5 or more cd with backup bins from different apps like Evox and config magic, it unlocks and locks fine, ive never tried to unlock the original drive at all i dont want to render the whole box useless, and as far as what i read my new drive is compatible....is there another way of doing it? as i mentioned it didnt do like my first box and auto backup the eeprom like i told it to when i softmodded, maybe i should uninstall the softmods and start all over?
