Hi,

I'm currently using DVD Shrink with Nero & Anydvd. I've been having issues lately.

My question is this:

What is your setup? How is it working for you, I'm looking for a simple economical formula to burn DVD's.

Thanks.

Borrowed from 1bonehead

1) decrypt to HDD with dvdfab HD (free version)
2) process files (all) with fixvts
3) shrink files with dvd shrink, output as iso/image to HDD
4) burn iso/image file with IMgburn

all programs are free

Imgburn, free from
www.imgburn.com

fixvts, free from
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...ools/fixvts.cfm

dvdfabHD free from
www.dvdfab.com

dvd shrink 3.2.0.15

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_.../dvd_shrink.cfm

and a guide to use all the programs

Or

a) anydvd and ripit4me
b) output shrink as iso/image file (last step of ripit4me)
c) burn with imgburn

ripit4me 1710 free from

When the chips are down, you can count on miltex !

I'm a RipIt4Me die hard. I always use this program first. If a button appears at the bottom stating that the disc can be opened with DVD Shrink, I close the program and rip with DVD Decrypter. If RipIt4Me cannot handle the disc, I then use DVDFab Platinum. After ripping I always use PgcEdit to check the structure of the ripped files and remove anything that's useless.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

I rip with dvdfab platinum (rip to dvd9 file size)

Process with fixvts

Transcode with dvd shrink to video_ts folder (size set at 4300MB)

Burn with nti cd & dvd maker (my default burn program....tho, I have been using imgburn as of late)

On occasion, I do use just dvdfab platinum to customize the disk (taking out the foreign language and foreign subtitles) using dvd5 settings (4300MB)

From there, I either burn with dvdfab platinum's vso burn engine, or use a burn program on my computer (nti cd & dvd maker or imgburn)

These are the programs that I currently have: DVDFab Platinum, DVD Decrypter, DVDShrink, FixVTS, VobBlanker, DVDRebuilder, and ImgBurn. Depending on the movie and what I am after, I will use varying combination's of these programs, such as what rtm and dialysis stated.

I have to say though.. You are all making it seem so complicated. Maybe we have no choice, I realize that. Some of you using 5 programs. With my old setup I had nero running in the background and burned dvd's with dvdshrink. Is there any combo out there that is that simple any more?

All in one: DVDFab Platinum $50.00. Decrypt, shrink, and burn.

Choose Burning Engine:
VSO burning engine is included with DVDFab. If you install Nero or ImgBurn on your computer, you also can choose to use either of these applications for burning to disc. They can be selected with the drop down selector near the top of the page. - from their homepage tutorial.

Personally, I use the same methods as the previous posts, but you asked for uncomplicated.

I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD, and copy title only. Usually takes 12-15 minutes.

I use the same basic setup that Ferguj1 outlined. Though I also use RipIt4Me and Anydvd. I guess it depends on what mood I am in as to which set up I use to do my backups.
