No longer able to burn discs

I used to be able to burn discs without a problem and now I cant successfully burn even one. I've done quite a bit of forum reading about problems similar to my own, unfortunately none of the solutions have worked. Ive updated drivers, upgraded firmware, tried several versions of Nero, tried several different media types and none of it seems to work. My CD/DVD burner is an Optiarc AD-7170S, SATA drive. That is my only CD drive and do not have any IDE devices. Below is my most recent Nero log. Thank you in advance for anyone who takes the time to look this over.

ok i checked my connection it was fine. and also upgraded my mobo drivers. I can now burn music CDs but I cannot burn .iso's.
I used Sony discs for the music CD and the attempted .iso below. the log below returned a medium error. I tried every burn speed available and none of them worked. Is there anything in this log that might point out the problem?

You have had enough I/O errors than now your DMA has reverted to off. See this LINK to get it fixed.

the device is not IDE. the SATA controller says that it is already in DMA transfer mode.
also like I said I was able to burn an audio CD with the same type of Media right before this attempt.

I read somewhere that using the NVIDIA Controller can cause conflicts and other problems. I can't find the exact thread right now but it said to uninstall the drivers and let windows install its own. I am not saying to take this action at the moment but you might look in to it further.
