This is our first game system. So far with our system we've got 2 controllers, 2 nun chucks, 2 steering wheels a game pack that has a gun, some rackets etc...What I don't have or have knowlege of is what are the best games to buy. I can afford to buy the games so I don't want to do any modding or copying. I just want to know what games are fun (not boring so they don't get used) also what games are fun for adults. Im thinking war games for myself.

You didn't say what ages the kids were, so I'm basing this on me and my 6 year old.

IMHO I like (lots of gameplay value)

Wiiplay - provides an introduction to the Wiimote control usage
Super Mario Galaxy - a classic
Metroid Prime
Okami - A unique use for the Wiimote
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (just finishing subspace emissary is fun)

My son likes:
Lego Star Wars
Lego Indiana Jones
Bionicle Adventures
Transformers (a little tough for him, though)
Boom Blox
Kororinpa Marble Mania
Zack and Wiki
Mario party 8
Cooking Mama

Cute but too easy
Wall-E
Ice Age 2

Tought it would be good but wasn't
Blastworks

Cute but lame (rent don't buy)
Tamagotchi

Hope this helps a little. It should spur others to comment.

For you, i dont know if you like just war games, but definitely check out

Resident Evil 4 (one of the best games ever made)
Call of Duty 3 (fun but not great... its like the others but with a wii mote)
Medal of Honor (any of these are pretty much as good as Call of Duty)
Scarface
The Godfather Black Hand Edition
Metal Slug Anthology
Resident evil umbrella chronicles ( has on old school arcade zombie hunter feel to it)
The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
No More Heroes
Manhunt 2

But as stated before rent before you buy.

For your kids (to add to the list of games not mentioned)

Lego Batman
Super Paper Mario (has some puzzles so if you have really young kids this may be too advanced)
Warioware Smooth Moves

And dont forget that the wii also plays gamecube games so you can possibly find something for them without it costing an arm and a leg. You will however need a gamecube controller which plugs into the top of your wii.

Also, you can get online with your wii and download old school NES game like mario, mario 3, and several other classics.

If you want to see any videos on the games mentioned above you can click here and type in the name of the video game you would like to see the video of in the websites search bar.

Good Luck!!

If you are into "geek culture" or so. No More Heroes is absolutely a hilarious fun game.
