Hitachi/ Benq drive switch mod (help please)

So I sent my benq drive in to get modded and I ended up with a modded hitachi drive which is supposed to be compatible or work but I don't think so. Also the drive won't read anything and just decides to open all the time. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do? The drive won't read games or spin and wont stop opening on it's own, any solutions would be great

did you try contacting the person or company that modded it?, that would be the first thing i would do.

i have the same problem with my drive opening but after i remove the face place it functions normal only until i insert a game,it then goes back 2 the opening in close state...but right now i'am going 2 flash my drive and don't know if that will fix the problem,,,but if it don't -i can always just order a dvd-rom drive ...
