I have a friends psp and for some reason he accidentally messed with the recovery menu and now his psp will turn on, without the screen coming on, and the card reader won't read nor light up. also if it helps solve the problem, he had cfw (thus the recovery menu) and when you do turn on the psp the gree light will stay on, and will simply turn itself on if you don't turn it off by holding the power switch for a long time. Please help me with this.

have you tried with a pandora battery and MMS ?

yeah i mod them all the time with the jigkick and mms but the card reader won't read and the screen won't even turn on at all

:S dont think so but could be possible if the ID storage has become corrupt

id say try a different memory card and try the usb - memory card in recovery mode (if you can access it) and that should prove if it works or not

if the ms doesnt want to read you will have no way or restoring it (classed as a super brick)

super brick basicly means that you are can't fix it with Pandora...but try using other MMS and other Pandora...

no recovery mode then?

if so then i think this is a hardware issue not software

looks like a new psp needed

(so its not really a super brick as super brick is use for unrecoverable software)
