Backups freeze after opening videos

Recently flashed my 360 with iXtreme 1.4 on my Hitachi v46 and backups will play after a bit of restarting and soft reseting the drive while the games in to avoid the dashboard timing out but they wont get past the opening videos or creator logo and then freeze with a black screen.

my question is could this be caused by ether the firware hack, the drive being poor or needing a clean, the media im using AOne Plus (got some verbs in the post) or the iso images (tryed fifa and saints row 2)

Well when you installed the iXtreme 1.4, do you know what speed you did it at? The options are 2x 8x and 12x. If you put it at 2x or 8x that could be the problem! All the xbox 360's that I've modded all had 12x installed, and I only use Verbatim Discs! So it could also be the media that you were using. So ya, check the speed that the mod was set to, and try using Verbatim Discs.

Does this happen when playing backups?

it only happens on back ups normal games play perfectly. I flashed it at 8x and im currently using Aone Plus discs but have ordered some verbatim which should be here middle of the week to check the media. Would you advise on putting it into mode B and putting the original firmware back and then reflashing at at 12x using iXtreme 1.4?

You can just update to the 12x. You don't have to put the original back on, and then reflash!
