Broken WiiKey install - Disc not spinning up

I have a once working Japanese Wii with a WiiKey installed, and one day it simply stopped reading discs. They aren't even spinning up. When I put a disc in, I hear a single click and the disc doesn't even turn...

I don't know why this started happening out of the blue, but maybe a wire came loose?

Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem sometimes. It will either try to read the wii disc then give me an error screen or the wii disc won't spin just like yours. It will however play gc games without any problems.

Upon checking it further, GC games WILL spin up in my Wii as well...

Still no luck with full sized discs...

Anyone know what causes this?
