Hi there, I am fairly novice when it comes to dvd burning, but i have burnt alot of films of late. My personal favourite is Xilisoft DVD creator (as i can usually get two large films on one dvd)

However I am trying to put a 437 MB (458,740,274 bytes) video on a dvd, but when i "add video file" to the list in Xilisoft, it tells me it's going to try to burn it at 6562mb (i only have 4.7gb discs.)

Normally, i can get 2 700+mb video files on one 4.7gb disc with ease using Xilisoft, so this is strange?

please help!
thanks in advance.

If I may ask, why are you putting 2 movies on one dvd5 disk? It would seem better to put 2 on a dvd9 disk instead.

It's never about the size of the source file when converting to DVD. Only the running time matters.

You've got 3.6 hrs of video. You'll need a bitrate of about 2500 (bad quality). See if you can adjust it somewhere in your program.

you should use this software as it can burn multiple movies also. You have to pay but believe me,it is worth it.
Edit the settings so the file doesn't split(set it to about 8500) and then convert.
Shrink the files with dvd shrink if they are too big and then burn away!
If you need more instructions then notify me.
