Im new to the dSLR's.Never had one. Im not even sure where to start. Ive heard that the Rebel series is good to start with. Especially for an ameature photographer. I DO NOT want to spend any more that 500. Which I could get both rebels for under 500. Any opinions, suggestions, or help?

just answered the question where can you go to compare reviews on cameras.... which site is the best....... Here is a great place to start with:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/

you want reviews on what's good and where you can get it the cheapest? Check out this:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_...s1000d&show=all

if you know nothing about Digital SLRs then read all the opinions and in depth reviews and see which camera is for you. You can learn a lot from that website. Also know that you will have to learn about Memory cards, lenses and whether the camera you buy has an automatic setting and other settings where you can grow with the camera. I am a Canon camera lover and have been since 1978 with my Canon AE-1. Here are some shots I took recently:

I have lots more!!! I love taking shots .....
What ever you decide on I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Good luck. And keep it fun!

Nikon d40 is also a good bet -- probably cheaper and it has great image quality.
