Tekken 6 is no longer a sony only brawler as it is making the jump to the 360 in 2009.

Sony needs to do something. I know they have gone on record stating that they refuse to pay for exclusives and will focus more on in house development but c'mon. They don't plan on a price cut and they don't want to pay for exclusives. Something has to give. Aside from games developed by sony you can pretty much get what what used to be games that have been with the PS brand on the 360. I look at this way, kid wants say FFXIII and either a PS3 or a 360 for xmas 09. Parent goes to Wal Mart and tells the clerk that his or her son/daughter is looking for FFXIII and a console. Clerk says well we have FFXIII on both PS3 and 360. Parents asks "Whats the difference?" clerk says "360 is $199 and the PS3 is $399". Now as a parent they will go with the cheaper 360 and I bet they still will even if the clerk went out of their way to point out what you get for $399 for the PS3. Now I know this scenario will not always play out to MS advantage but its still a good chance of a PS3 not selling because of price point and games that used to be on Sony's stable and now on the 360.

that very true and the only thing the ps3 had going for it at that price was blu ray and now 360 is getting that to now

So I'm guessing the 360's developing a Blu-Ray player, as well? Wouldn't that mess with the HD-DVD base it was built upon?

...speaking of which, I always thought that the games were also in HD-DVD. Wouldn't that also mess them up, too?

But regardless, once Blu-Ray replaces DVDs as the norm, I don't have any doubt that the PS3's sales will start to increase and its price to drop to compete with the 360. I mean... technology and time, and all that business.

That said, the few games I've played that've switched to the 360 haven't exactly been stellar. Ace Combat 6 felt clumsy with the 360 controller, any number of fighting games felt just as clumsy, and... well, DMC4 wasn't too bad, but it was still fairly awkward maneuvering around the 360 pad to get it to work. Which was odd, considering I'd been playing the 360 for a while, now. (Much longer than the PS3, at least.)

Where are you getting this information from about the 360 with bluray?

Well it makes sense for MS to release a Blue Ray addon for the xbox since HDDVD is out of the market. This will mean that for 200 dollar plus whatever for the blue ray drive you get a cheaper alternaive to teh PS3 and as the xbox is able to play backups it'll sell more.

Really it seems the PS3 is going to tumble, last I heard Sony still make a loss with each unit sold even when these units are inferior to the those orginally sold on its release. Even if the PS3 is able to have CFW sure they'll sell more units but again as said above they're still losing out.

So really is Sony want the PS3 to prosper then they really do need exclusives but as we all have seen PS exclusives arent exclusive anymore.

Question now is if they arent reducing prices or making more exclusives, what are they going to do? The PS3 imo still isnt the so called multimedia machine it was supposed to be due to not supporting quite a few codecs and having to rely on TVersity.

LWP and Home arent going to bring it up either, people wll just see those as extras which probably wont be used much. So that means Sony have to pull something out of the bag, something MS cannot compete with in order to make the PS3 a success!

Sony is in fact losing money per PS3 sold so I can see why they don't want to do a price drop. As far as the 360 getting a Blu Ray add on I doubt it, not for the 360 anyway, maybe for its successor. I don't think that Sony will be granting MS blu ray since blu ray is one of the key selling point of the PS3.

The thought of 360 having blu ray is silly. there system was built on normal dvd-9. They cant just switch to blue ray it doesnt work like that. there core base is dvd and they must cater for that not blur ray. Thats why u didnt see hd dvd exclusives because the 360 was released using dvd and they have to stick with it. It will eventually be there downfall.

No biggie in my eyes, Tekken sales haven't been what they used to be and the devs need to factor that in. If it's multi-platform no problem...as long as they don't shaft one or the other console users!

you guys took what he said out of context...
he was just telling the person that he was wrong about xbox having hd-dvd games and that hd-dvd is dead and blue ray won...

even though he spelt "know" wrong, still read and take what english class taught you to make out what people say.

Yes, he corrected me on the HD-DVD thing... but he still said that there was a Blu-Ray player coming out for it, so... yeah, I don't know how it could've been taken out of context.

He corrected himself, but still... now the rumor's gonna go a-flyin'.

That said, though, English class never taught me that "no" meant "know." It always taught me that "no" meant... "no."

...but I know what you mean. I'm just harpin'.

meh...console war is a thing in the past.

Doesnt matter if Sony is losing exclusives. No one cares anymore about hardware its all about the game companies now. A console can have all the specs in the world but if the games sucks then it doesnt matter.

So instead of saying which console is better pretty soon its gonna be which game company is better. EA is slowing buying everyone out and im sure in the future its gonna be a major game companys war instead of console war.

PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

If that's the case, then wouldn't EA be one of the FIRST to kick the bucket? After all, its games are... well, very far from the best.

Or is there some gem in their library that I don't know about?

Not true at all. If the "console wars" was in fact a thing of the past them MS wouldn't bother to pay for exclusive downloadble contents. Like it or not its here and it will be for a very long time. Unless 2 out of the 3 companies decide to call it quits for manufacturing consoles then I highly doubt we will see the end of MS vs. Sony . Nintendo.

NewCloud and I spoke about this over PSN yesterday, and you can ask him I was furious. I bought a PS3 for 3 games; God of War3, TEKKEN, and Socom. Tekken has always been PS exclusive. SOCOM is screwed right now because of bad patches, Tekken is multiplatform, and god only knows when we are getting God of War 3. I thought about selling my PS3 yesterday and making the jump to Xbox. I love my PS3, but Sony dropped the ball this generation. At least we dont have to worry about God of War or SOCOM on xbox since these are first party titles. Maybe Tekken 6 will run a little better online then Tekken 5 because of the Xbox live service. If you play Tekken send me a friend request or game invite. I'm pretty good.

I just thought of something. Have fun using the XBOX d pad to play tekken. It going multiplatform means there will be more people for me to beat on...lol
