Hi.Being new to using Shrink although I had it on my computer for some time and not using it because I couldn't get to function like the other 1 or 2 click DVD Copy software I was used to, I have a grasp of it now.
Here is a list of the tools I have and sequence in which I use them.
Ripit4me 1.7.1.0 /DVD Decrypter: decrypting,cleaning vobs
FixVts 1.6.0.3: cleaning up ALL vobs
Shrink 3.2.0.15: Shrinking movie to DVD5 and burning backup copy to either Verbatim or TDK DVD-R discs.
I can't find an option to create an .ISO in the version of DVD Shrink that I have so I don't make one and use the ImgBurn 2.4.2.0 that I have to make a dvd backup.
Also, I have the following programs:
DVDFab 4 Platinum, DVDFab 5 HD Decrypter,( doesn't connect with Ripit4me), Vob Blanker( never used yet) DVD Pro Rebuilder( unused, AnyDVD,(just acquired,Nero 8 Ultra and a couple other 1 click DVD copiers that I had used exclusively.
Using DVD Shrink is alien to me though I'll give it a go, seeing that before I was at a loss once it had done the analysis of a DVD I'd put in DVD drive, an dI couldn't get it to make a copy. Scratched my chin on that one & used what I was accustomed to. I can laugh too.
I'm looking into the Shrink Forums for advice already given to other people that have had queries and find much good advice in there.
Thanks in advance
If it was a newer DVD, then you would probably rip the disk using 'DVDFab HD Decrypter'.
'FixVTS' (if required) then DVD Shrink.
No particular reason to create an ISO for the burning stage (except personal preference).
The version of DVD Shrink on Afterdawn (I think?) can use ImgBurn to burn the disk automatically.
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter and Ripit4me are no longer updated.
DVD Decrypter is still very useful for ripping episodic disks and audio streams.
DVD Shrink is still the most trusted of the transcodnig tools - Nero thinks so, they hired the author.
don't autoburn with nero 8 using dvd shrink or you will have playback problem (nero 8 doesn't support dvd shrink) you will need this version of dvd shrink to autoburn with imgburm
since you have DVDFab Platinum thats your better option(the program updates dvd shrink hasn't updated in years and won't) another option is to use anydvd with nero recode 2, more option/info/guides here
