Making clips of a Movie for academic film analyzation

I am doing a assignment analyzing the book-to-film transfer of "The Virginian" to "The Magnificent Seven." I plan to take clips from the movie and insert them into a powerpoint presentaion, which is where I run into problems.
I have both the original copy and a decrypted copy of the DVD that I obtained using DVDXCOPY Platinum. So... I have a dvd with vobs on it but I do not know how to make clips out of them. I have both DVD Decrypter and Chopper XP on my computer.

Does anyone have any good ideas on what I should do. I do not need to burn anything more to a disk, just make little video clips from the movie. Thanks in advance
