Anyone been able to copy Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers? I know it is 3D and it says I don't have enough room on the DVD, but I was just wondering if there is some way to copy it. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the title, but if it's like any other DVD you'll need to strip-out the encryption and then shrink it so that it will fit on a blank DVD. I use DVDFab which is free here http://www.dvdfab.com/ and Shrink which you can get free from loads of places. There are loads of other progs which will do this also.
I'm not sure if this will alter any 3D effects... never tried it or heard it done before. Good luck.

I concur. Use DvdFab to rip to you hard disk drive. If the resulting rip is too big you may need to use Dvd Rebuilder to make a proper quality backup.

I have used DVD Fab Platinum 5.0.9 successfully to copy the entire disk, both the 2D and the 3D versions of the movie, might want to give that a try. Just use the Full Disc mode

Click on 'open'. Find the video_ts folder and select the first file. Click 'open' and from there click 'full disk'. Wait till the results are finished, and when you choose the files to shrink or burn, select the 'fixvts' folder.

You use the fixvts results instead of the backup.

When you run fixvts, the results will be in the video_ts folder. There will be a seperate folder labeled 'fixvts'. The results are in there.
Oh, just to let you know, asking these questions in another ones thread is refered to as 'hijacking' and isn't allowed. You could have started a seperate theread.

Someone named creakey said i should post my question here althouth someone else said i was hijacking. Oh well, here's my question
Hi, I am new at this backing up game, and in another thread I saw someone mention fxvits.
1) what does it do exactly ?
2) when do I need to use it ?
3) and just exactly how do I use it ?
a step by step guide would be extremely helpful :)
i'm a noob at this, and need all the help you experts can give me.
Thanks :)

Thread hijacking, Multiposting etc etc, are all cardinal sins, and Forum Rules. Either way, my motto is all about information being easy to access for those that need it most (and yes, even i need info sometimes). So.. that's why i'm so strict, part of which is information being in only one place. I'm less concerned about thread hijacking as the information is still in one place, and as long as the hijacking is more like being along for the ride and sharing the wealth so to speak, all is well. I only clamp down on hijacking if it's blatantly taking away from help the original poster isn't getting, so again, all's well for now.
I probably have a bad name for closing threads all over the shop, be that as may, but the info is all (already) here for the finding, most movies simply need simple solutions, DVDFab will rip virtually every movie out there, but DVDFab doesn't always produce the cleanest of rips. This is solved in one or more ways - my preference is via Vobblanker, Fixvts is just as good. My point is that Fixvts, DvdFab, Vobblanker etc etc etc, are explained to death here on these forums daily, and searching the forums will prove this, better still, searching the forums will reveal exactly how simple all these programs are...

A tip - if you can't find what you need by searching thru the Forum search, just use Google (a lot of new posters must surely end up at Afterdawn via Google) then just use Google to search for stuff.
For example, Vobblanker is the first choice here - http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=v...le+Search&meta= and it looks like a very complex program. It is complex, but doesn't need to be used in a complex way, using Vobblanker to 'clean' files output by DVDFab is extremely simple. All that's needed is to point Vobblanker to the folder that DVDFab ripped the movie files to. Then point Vobblanker to an output directory and hit the Process button. Then just burn the files output by Vobblanker.

Been out of touch for a while, so I do apologize. I have Hannah downloaded on my hard drive using dvdfab (bought it a while back). I will use fixvts and dvdshrink tonight, and burn with imgburn, which I already use. Will let you guys know tonight how it goes. Thanks.
