Dear afterdawn members,

I Have a dvd brand smartbuy one batch is x8 max speed and the other is x16 max speed.

Iam working with the x8 media and burn games at x4 speed all games works perfect.

Now the thing that i cant understand well, when i started using the other media x16 dvd and try to burn as usual at x4 the game wont run at all.

But when i try to burn the x16 media with x8 speed games works perfect.

i Have some question now pls.

Questions:

1. Why this happen?
2. Buring at difference speed will make effect and why?
3. burn dvd at x8 will strees my laser or something?
4. it will effect the media if the buffer is 87 to 100% when burning ?

I always just refer people to this faq.

Now this is older info, but most still holds true when it comes to media on the PS2.
The type of disc, speed you burn at, and type of burner all play a role.

I just use Sony DVD-R mostly, and Verbatim and have had no issues.

If thats what works with that media, then yes just continue.

Thats how it goes sometimes, if one speed doesn't work, you have to try another.

Will my PS2 laser be stress or something?

i have a lite on dvd drive and someone told me that theres a program that can modify it speed etc any ideas plz ?
