So I burned an ISO image using Alcohol 120. However, it doesn't play on my DVD players. Kept getting messages that the DVD wasn't compatible with the player's region.

Well, I used DVD shrink to back up the image to be region-free and burn it again. However, I still get the same messages from the DVD players.

The weird thing is that on certain images, DVD shrink will ask me what region I want to the backup ISO image to be. However, this one isn't asking me that at all.

thanks for the help folks

Depending on the region you are in, even tho you have made the dvd region free, you may still have to deal with the NTSC/PAL format to take care of.

If the problem is in fact your file format, then here is a link to one method of converting between PAL/NTSC.

Good thing about 5 years ago, I bought a region free dvd player that plays NTSC/PAL formats with no problem.
