Hi all,

I have a PSP Fat that currently has 3.71m33-4, before that i had 3.53m33-4 which again was updated from some other version of custom firmware (that i am not very sure about). I have been wanting to play Metal slug antholgy for really long, but my bad luck maybe, that it din work on any of the custom firmwares i installed including the current one.

Please help.

Thanks!!!

It just won't play. the game icon shows in the memory stick but then when i start it the screen just goes blank. at first i thought maybe the file was corrupted thus i downloaded another file and then i downloaded 3 more. but same thing happened with all. Is it some firmware issue? What firmware metal slug requires?

Please help.

Try this

1. Turn off your PSP fully (by holding the power button)
2. Turn it on again while holding the R button
3. This should bring you to the Recovery Mode
4. Go to Config
5. Click the UMD mode until you reach to NP9660
6. Exit the Recovery Mode

Do not mess with the Recovery mode unless you know what you are doing.

Do you have a UMD in your PSP? It's pretty much necessary to run ISO/CSO. Make sure your PSP is set to read the UMD.

PSP Fat FW route over a few years now:
3.03 >1.5 >3.10 OE-A >3.40 OE-A >3.52M33-3 >3.90M33-3 > 4.01 M33 > 4.01 M33-2 ... > Gen D3

Hey,

thanks a lot Mr.gooey... that works just perfect... finally i have the metal slug on PSP...

:) just one more question though about that NP9660 setting, can i play all the games with that setting or that is required just for Metal slug or some games in particular??? and if it not 'asking too much' then can you please even tell me what are these settings for, as there are some other settings as well in the UMD section of configs... what do they do exactly???

don bother if you think this is a waste of time.. just curious...

Thanks!!!

yeah the NP9660 setting should work for all games so you dont have to worry about that.
