Will Japanese PS2 Games Work On A US-made PS2 ?

I am downloading two PS2 games made for japan. Will PS2 games from japan work on a PS2 in US? If so, is there an option in the games to change the language to english? The games are:

- Devil Kings
- Genji: Damn of the Samurai

as long as your ps2 is moded they will work, and changning the language to english would have to be a feature within the game.
