Superb build, but the PSU is outrageous. A Corsair TX650W would power that system with lots of room to spare and would be much quieter doing it, and when I mean much quieter, I mean more than 10dB.

Everything looks good, expect for what sam said. I agree with him on the PSU thing.
Also, are you sure you want that monitor? It's a TN panel. I would recommend getting a Dell Ultrasharp instead.

very interesting.
i had a build in mind pretty similar to your's but when i mentioned DDR3 in my spec they told me not go with it and to choose DDR2 instead. weird, i wonder why theyre not telling you the same thing.........

There's nothing explicitly wrong with DDR3, it's just not any better than DDR2. When you're using a board like the Rampage Extreme, paying extra for memory seems immaterial.

then why not recommend ddr2 ? and would you still have called the build superb if you threw in the ddr2?

Of course I would. Thinking about it, OCZ probably isn't the best brand to get DDR3 from. While it might not suffer the issues OCZ's DDR2 does, what if it does?
Considering, I'd recommend using Corsair XMS3 instead.

For cheaper boards I always recommend Gigabyte over Asus as their build quality is solid throughout the range. Asus have made a lot of dodgy cheap boards over the years, but their top end stuff, for Intel chipsets at least is rock solid.

Thanks for your replys, I'll check out that memory you recommended samarris. Also yes I suppose the psu is a bit much and I would buy a dell ultra sharp which I was going for in first place but it's 400 euro more so I can't really stretch my budget any more :/.

The Dell Ultrasharps are worth the money, but they are out of the price range for most buyers.
Also, you will need to downsize your signature picture, it's outside the forum rules (max size 50KB, yours is 140KB)

The latencies on that set are significantly weaker. If you want Corsair modules that perform similarly to the OCZ stuff you chose, you'll be paying a similar amount or more. Check for higher performance (lower latency) stuff.

A 24" Dell ultrasharp should only be around a 100 more Euro. Are you sure you aren't comparing the 30" version?

£300 in the UK for the 2493 versus £380 for the Dell, a reasonable difference.

Lol I see you're in the shaffaaf camp and think that all TNs are crap, they really aren't that bad, and I like my image quality.

No, I'm in the "I have used this piece of crap and I still love my CRT because TN Panel monitors are crap" camp. They are good for 15" monitors, but when you are talking about relatively large monitors like the 24" then the viewing angles REALLY mess with the colours.
