I aplogise if this sounds noobish but Im really new to this PSP thing. I was wondering if it was possible to open a txt or similar type of file in the middle of a game without having to reset or stop the game running. For example Im in a game and I dont know how to advance anymore but Im not near a PC so I cant access the Faq file. But if I could somehow store that faq in my PSP and then access it while im in the middle of a game, then a quick glance at the faq and im rdy to proceed all without stopping the game totally.

Now I dont even know if a PSP can even run a txt or similar type file let alone do the things Im asking but I've heard people do some pretty incredible things with their PSPs so I just wanted to know if this was possible with CFW.

P.S I hope i didnt post this in the wrong forum.

yes, you can use cwcheat. It has a built in text reader while playing. And it can also take screenshot of your game and cheats ...

Here is a guide
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/664513

Just go to the cwcheat menu and click on the text reader.

Great guide mrgooey. I updated my firmware to 4.01-2, installed CWC, got the cheats running but I cant get the text reader to work. Can you help me out? The faq says to put the text and rename it with the game ID so it should be:ULJM05500 but when I start CWC I cant enter the text reader :( Any help would be appreciated.

anyways, use this

make the text file and put it here

ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/text/GAMEID.txt

rename the gameid.

Faq as in CWC Faq.txt that comes with the download.
Anyway I googled for an answer and came across this page
http://cwcheat.consoleworld.org/wiki/dok...filename_format

I followed it like it says and I got this as the end result:

I copied the txt file and added it again as a second file just in case and it still dosent work. I wish the goddamn txt reader would work cause I have no interest in the cheats themselves. Btw I think it would be better if I moved this to the Mod page. I dont want to be flagged for Off-topic posting.

then, I have no clue why it dosen't works. Try a test with only a few lines of text.

This should be move to the homebrew section. But, this thread wont be closed because of off topic. However, you should change the title to "In-Game Text Reader" before the mods closed this. ( not a descriptive title)
