Hello, everyone.
I have 3 bin files of the same program. I converted them in ISO.
Afterwards I used WINRAR:

"The archive is either unknown format or damaged"

I tried to use NERO8 Express. At the end:

" ..... successfully"

But the CD doesn't show any files.

The 3 files cannot be damaged simultaneously.

Why does this succeed?

Thank you and Cheers.

hi Jomapil

"i converted them in ISO." - what do you mean? converted them how? the file extension .BIN is a vague term and normally denotes that the file is a BINARY (as in not in any format, just a lump of data)so how do you know that data was a filesystem image (which is what .ISO files normally are) to be written to CD?

"Why does this succeed?" - could it be because NERO doesnt care if the files are garbage, only that the file it put on the cd matches the source file ok...

regards Nick

Hello, Nickberry
I have always converted the files .BIN in .ISO using BIN2ISO successfully or, sometimes via the correspondenting .CUE file.
Then, I convert the files obtained with NERO8 or WINRAR to the final files. But, in this case, it's the first time in two years that doesn't succeed the second part. The three fles aren't wrong simultaneously because I know there are many people with this final program so the three original files must be correct.
So, is there another process to obtain the desired final files?
If yes and you do know, please send me the alternate solution.
Thank you very much for your answer.
Cheers.

normally the .BIN files also have a .CUE file - the .CUE file tells the software (NERO, et al) how the data in the .BIN file sits on the disc...

see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_sheet_(computing)

the .CUE isnt nesc but may have been useful - did the download come with any?

if you have the .CUE file you dont need to convert the the .BIN to ISO - most software you can just point at the .CUE file and it will burn it to disc from the info in that)...

but you say WinRAR advises the .BIN files may be damaged - perhaps you have to re-download them :(
