Right now I am not sure what is better radeon 4670 or radeon 3850...
I'm confused because I have seen some threads that says
that radeon 3850 in much slower in total performance than radeon 4670..
while in fact the specs of 3850 is much more impressive than 4670
so my question is how could it be possible?and whice of the both is preferable?
Radeon HD 4670
core speed 750 MHz
memory speed 2 GHz (512 MB) or 1,746 MHz (1 GB)
128-bit (DDR3)

320 stream proccesors DX10.1
Radeon HD 3850
core speed 725 MHz
memory speed 1.66 GHz
memory 512 MB (DDR3)
256-bit
53.12 GB/s
320 stream proccesors DX10.1

what is your budget and what are the rest of your system specs? what resolution do you play at? the 4670 and 3850 trade off in games but they are about the same. here is an article comparing sub $100 graphics cards.

if you could i would go for an 8800gt instead of the 4670 or 3850. you can get one for $115 and it performs much better.

specs:
AMD Athlon 64X2 +3800
Asus M2N-E
kingstone 1G 667Mhz DDR2
Radeon X1600Pro 512MB
HD WD250GB
HD segeate 500GB
PSU - Gyro max450W - I know this PSU is simple,
it doesn't even has PCI-E connection so if I go for
8800GT I would have to replace the PSU as well.
my budget is sub-100$ more or less.
which card should I buy?

i would get the 4670 because it performs almost the same as the 3850 and uses less power.

I'd get the HD4670 as it uses less power, but replace the PSU anyway, as cheapo units like that can go pop with no warning, and the HD4670 probably still uses more power than your current card.

120hz refresh rate for 30fps video is pointless, but the HD4650 can do everything else admirably.

As long as you have a decent dual core processor, yes it can.

Not sure, the Pentium D is a very weak processor, you would need a very efficient video codec to pull that off. My Core 2 Duo E4300 at its stock 1.8Ghz struggles with very high quality 1080p rips, achieving an average of around 80% CPU usage. I only have an X1900XT video card, which is only really 60% as powerful as the HD4670, but the E4300 is a faster CPU than the one you have.
