can any one shed some light on this i have a m8 who reacon a bud of his modded elite was system locked down {NOT BANED} locked down after a game update off to human can ms do this

i have a friend of mine who was telling my self about a friend of his got a new copy of to human. loaded said game in to his modded xbox 360 elite. the game up date his console which in turn locked his system up {not baned } can ms do this

Anyways, no, your console will not get banned from a game update. Now if it was a console update (I am 99% sure it wouldn't have been) there would be a chance it could be banned. But it was most likely a game update and that would not ban you.
I have had this happen to my cousin. Try taking out your hard drive or memory card and play the game, still connected to live. Then it will say it needs to update. It will say you cant because you dont have a memory source. So then turn off your 360, and disconnect from live so it doesn't mess with the settings. Then Go to the system blade and then select memory.
Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices? Press yes and then it should clear the thing. So then connect to xbox live with your device still in. Then redownload the update and waaalaahh. No system lock or anything.
