Hi, I'm new to the forums. I am having a problem with burning copy's of 360 games. I own the game, which I'm trying to burn Call of Duty 4. I've burn't games before but now everytime I go to burn games it comes up with random errors, saying it can't finish burning. These errors cam at any time, 12% sometimes 93%. There was really no consistency. I thought ok lets check the layer, it was right, 1913760. I'm using IMGBurn, which like I said has worked perfectly. So I was like crap, what am I going to do. So then I thought maybe it was the discs? So I had 2 Sony DL Disc's left and tried those(which I have burn't successful copies onto before) and they didn't work. I tried that V kind that supposed to be the best, didn't work. Tried Memorex didn't work. And just to be stupid I tried a old Dynex DL Disc that I didnt except to work, and you guessed it, it didnt. So I was running out of options so I thought maybe my burner went out, so I have a Pioneer DL Burner. So I switched with and HP DL burner, didnt work. So I tried with like 4 different Dual Layer Burner and still didn't work. I also messed with all the booktypes for all the drives. Altogether, i spent about 25 discs to make coasters, which I might add are Freaken Sweet lol :P. But yea, i was going to post the error message, but I'm out of discs and can't yet until Monday when, unfortunately I go to Get more discs. Also I tried almost every version of IMGBurn. Does anyone know what could be wrong. PLz try to help.

Are you able to burn any type of media on your computer? Like if you just burn a single layer dvd full, will that work? Will burning a cd full of music work? I don't know, but it could be something wrong with your pc, unless those all work. Possible buffer issue...

Ok, Guesswho I have tried to burn a movie from my computer, on a regular layer disc. And worked, just watched the movie today(Indiana Jones The New One pretty good movie). SO the movie part worked. I also burn't a MP3 music disc with about 100 or so songs on it, and listened to it, no problem. After about an hour of searching, I found one last Dual Layer Disc. It was a memorex one, which I have most of my backups burnt on. I tried burning right now, and the error happened at 2%. This is the error:

I/O Error!

Device: [2:0:0} LITE -ON DVDRW LH-20A1H LLOD(E:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 2A 00 00 01 5D C0 00 00 20 00
Interpretation: Write(10) - Sectors: 89536 - 89567

Sense Area : 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Write Error

Thats what popped up while burning.

I'm going to post a picture of what it looks like in a future post. I clicked retry and basically the same thing came up. I'll also post a picture up.

So whatever, I couldn't get past that screen, so I clicked cancel.

Then a screen popped up, Would you still like me to try and preform the 'Close Track/Session/Disc' functions, even though the write operation appears to have failed.

So I click no, because ofcourse it failed.

Then lmao it Said " OH NOOOOOO!!!!" in that voice. Ill post pictures of all my settings and stuff like that. I dont even know what has gone wrong, one day I burn games perfectly the next it always fails.

Check next post for the pictures.

hm....

yeah, go ahead and post them, but it will probably only be able to give just as much info as you did, regardless, it wouldn't hurt. Well, we obviously narrowed it down to your computer only having issues burning dual layer dvds. I assume that these are dvd+r dl not dvd-r dl?

Is it on a laptop or I am assuming a desktop you are using it on? What's the system specs?

It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong (I'm assuming you're doing everything right, burning the .dvd file not the .iso, etc.), but seems to be more of some hardware issue you are having with your computer and burner.

If it's an internal drive, or even an external, do you have a friend where you can try to burn a dual layer on their computer? Just swap it out with whatever drive they have? Doing that, we can atleast test to see if it works on their computer vs your own.

Let me know if there is any other info you think might be necessary, try the drive out on another computer, and let me/us know what happened.

OK, Guesswho I uploaded the pictures at the bottom. To your first question yea, Im using the DVD+R DL's. I also am using the burner on my desktop. I dont really have a certain brand of computer because my dad built it from buying parts, I'll try to get all the specs together later.

======================================================================
Also yes I have a friend I can try swapping the drive out and putting it in his, which I'll probably try tonight, to see if that helps. Also its internal, which isn't a problem just putting that out there.
======================================================================
Here first of all are the pictures of all the setting's, which to my knowledge aren't wrong just thought I would post them incase they were wrong.

======================================================================
Like I said ill try to swap the drive out and put it into another computer. Im just starting to think its possibly a driver or something, program, something thats infilicting with the burner, and I think this cuz I haven't had any problems recently. So if I try to swap the drive and it works, Im gonna try to just use my other blank hardrive, just put xp on that and use it only for burning games, cuz then nothing would be on it besides IMGBURN and the game backups. But I'll repost tommorow, and let you/everyone how the swap went.

Is that the latest version of ImgBurn cuz your setting looked a bit different from mine. When I first started burning 360 games, I remembered I had the same problem. But it didn't happened on ImgBurn but instead on Xbox Backup Creator. Then I tired using another program CloneCD, and it's been working fine ever since. The best thing for using CloneCD is that I don't even have to change any settings. Just install the program and burn.

I would recommend that you update all your software and your burners with the latest firmware. If you still want to use ImgBurn, I would say uninstall the program first and try again.

Also, from looking at the picture, that seems to be a downloaded version from a torrent. It could be the files that you downloaded are corrupted.

Well definitely let us know how it went if you tried swapping out the drive, but I also completely agree that you should try out clonecd too to see if it gives you the same error. I kind of switch between the two, but cloneCD works amazing at burning images also.

You're burning the .dvd, so it doesn't look like you are doing anything wrong.

Does anyone else you know make backups, and have tried using specifically the file you are using to burn and have it work successfully?

Ok, Guesswho and others reading this forum. I found an old 150g sata drive, I had lying around. I formatted and only put IMGburn on the drive, along with my backed up game. I used a Sony Disc, and it burn't successfully. But I'm still wondering why my old hard drive, that I used to use to burn games wont anymore. I mean I'm still using the Lite-on drive, which I tried to burn my last game with, and I didn't take anything out of my computer. So I'm thinking its a software problem. Maybe another program or driver is inflicting with the drive while its burning. I update IMGBURN and the drives firmware so I'm not sure. Has anyone else had problems like this and fixed it???
