Apple has announced that all four of the major TV broadcasters; ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, have agreed to offer programming in HD on the company's iTunes platform. The shows will cost $2.99, a premium over the $1.99 for standard definition and the company says there are about 600 shows available in HD on iTunes now. I'm perfectly content sticking with the standard definition. If I buy a TV show on itunes, it's to watch it. My computer has less chance of crashing and running slower or freezing on SD video than HD. To me it's a waste of space and processing power. Since itunes video is incompatible with everything else, there's really no reason for me to shell out the extra dough for HD.

I really wish you didn't need to download the iTunes player just to buy stuff from iTunes. They sell anime and i'd be interesting in buying some stuff if it was $2.99 for HD.
