Computer will only start up in safe mode... Help Please

I can't seem to be able to boot my computer in normal mode. I've tried windows memory diagnostics tool to see if it was a file error of some sort, but no. I've tried System Restore, several times but that doesn't solve it. I can only think of a virus because in safe mode I noticed that my sister was downloading .zip files.

While your in safe mode, run your A/V software and see if that picks anything up. I tried Trojan remover (available here at AD from the downloads tab) and it worked wonders. See how you go with it.

It just turns out my computer is running super slow on boot and once i'm logged in, so that probably suggests a virus or malware of some sort. however I can still boot in normal mode so i'll get a scan done and get another HJT log up. I'm using AVG 8.0 the non-free edition.

Hijack is not my forte' What did the remover tell you? Have you cleaned your reg files? and most importantly after what you did, have you made a full restart?
Manually go through your program files folder and remove any left over rubbish.
