Hi guys. I'm new to the whole wii modding scene, and I recently purchased a D2Sun v3.0 modchip for my wii (presoldered to a clip) by modchipcentral.com Unforntunately, it's not working for me. Only original games will play. The modchip configuration is set up correctly, the modchip light turns green, and the wii will boot up fine except for the "Unable to read disk" error that I get. I am using Digital Movie DVD-R Verbatim disks, tested at most levels of disk burning. The modchip is secured tightly and I put the wii-clip barrier between the drive and the chip. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I have no idea what is wrong. Any help is appreciated!

Do you have the jumper switches on the Modchip set up properly corresponding with your Wii drive chipset and region?




If the drive chipset is labeled D2C you might want to try both switch settings D2C and D2C2 in case it is a D2C2 chipset.

i'm having the same problem. I'm using tayo-yuden dvd-r disk. burned @4x and the switches are set up right. I'm using the d2sun v3 chip w/clip soldered on. I have a dms chip set. Is there something else i have to do??? Thanks

Sometimes the media or media burner is just plain bad. That's what happened to me.
