There are a couple of reports about the same thing here -

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...ols/avi2dvd.cfm
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Avi2Dvd

- but this program has been around for a while, and it's hard to believe it would be distributed with a trojan - especially since both Afterdawn and Videohelp link to the software.

On the other hand, I think DVD Flick is a superior program.

DVD Flick saves the output to a folder and in the 'Project Settings',if you opted to burn the output to disk, it's burning program should start immediately after conversion.

Alternately, if you browse to and open the output folder and click on 'VTS_01_1.VOB' it should play ok using a media player.

Note:I assume you are using Windows Media Player - WMP does not play MPEG2 files unless a suitable codec has been installed in the PC - that's why it's better to use the likes of 'VLC' which contains it's own codecs.
