Hey guys. I'm trying to find some sort of A/V splitter to hook up my Xbox 360 to display on both my TV and the PC (for recording). I already have a capture card for recording the footage on the PC, but I'd rather be able to play with clearer and smoother picture on my TV while recording/broadcasting at the same time. My setup is something like this:
Any suggestions on what I should buy? Thanks in advance.
if you are playing in SD, and using the RCA cables (yellow, red, white), you can use a Y-cable (splitter) with RCA connectors to split the video and audio and run them where needed. Those cables are only a couple of bucks, and much cheaper than a AV box.
Hmm, sounds like what I'm looking for, but the only products I get on google are audio splitters, or splitters with only 2 inputs. I need both video AND sound on both PC and TV (SD).

Can't neither. Video is low impedance (75 ohm) and is always terminated at the input jack. That would be putting two terminations on the video line, and each destination will only see half the signal. This means the synch pulses will be half as large too. You need a small distribution amp to feed video to more than one place. Audio splits fine, as it's generally high impedance.

Distribution amps, huh? That seems to be the thing I need, but it's a bit spendy. Do you have any suggestions on what brand/model I should get?

Yes you can. I do it. I also do it with HD Component with no problem. The type of Y cable I am talking about is here:

you buy 3 of them, one for the video and 2 for the audio.
NOTE: The y-cable splitter works fine for me, but only if you are not making long cable runs. If you have to run the cable a long distance then olyteddy is right a small distribution amp is needed.
